WRITING AS A TOOL OF KINGDOM GUIDANCE
WELCOME TO THE ANOINTED PEN SERIES!

This is episode 3 of “The Anointed Pen: Writing as a Sacred Call for Christian Influence” and in this month of January, we have been examining the origin of writing in Biblical times and why kingdom writers should explore writing as a divinely approved tool for kingdom influence.

In today’s topic, I will be sharing on Writing as a Means of Guidance: How God Uses His Written Word to Lead His People.

Throughout history, the written word has been one of the most effective ways God has provided guidance, wisdom, and direction for His people. Writing is not just a practical tool but a divine medium that delivers timeless truths and instructions for life and faith.

Let’s explore how writing serves as a powerful means of guidance in God’s plans below.

1. Wisdom Literature: Practical Guidance for Everyday Life

The Bible is rich with wisdom literature that offers instruction for living a life aligned with God’s will. Books like Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes are filled with practical advice on worship, decision-making, and daily living.

  • Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”These verses highlight a foundational truth: by seeking God and submitting to His direction, we find clarity and purpose in life. Written wisdom like this offers guidance that is both enduring and universal, transcending time and culture.
  • Application for Today’s living:
Wisdom literature invites us to turn to Scripture in moments of confusion or uncertainty. Whether we need guidance in relationships, finances, or leadership, God’s Word offers practical answers that are as relevant now as when they were written.

2. Vision and Prophecy: Writing as a Rallying Call

In Habakkuk 2:2, God told the prophet:
“Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.”

This directive demonstrates the power of written words to capture divine vision and communicate it clearly to others. By putting the vision in writing, it became something tangible that could inspire, guide, and unite people in purpose. This particular scripture has been one powerful scripture that has helped and empowered me in my visionary journey.

  • Why Writing Matters in Vision and Prophecy:
    • Written words serve as a reference point, ensuring the vision is not forgotten or distorted over time.
    • They provide clarity, helping people understand and act on God’s plan without confusion.
    • Writing ensures that the vision reaches a broader audience, both present and future generations.
  • Application for Leaders and Believers:
Whether you’re writing a journal, a book, or a mission statement, documenting what God places in your heart is a way of stewarding the vision He has entrusted to you. Writing ensures that His message can inspire others and remain impactful over time.

How Writing Continues to Guide Us Today

The principles found in wisdom literature and prophetic writings are still alive and active today. As believers, we can turn to the written Word of God for:

  • Clarity in decision-making.
  • Direction in fulfilling God’s purpose.
  • Encouragement when facing challenges.

Additionally, writing is a tool we can use to contribute to this legacy. Whether through personal reflections, teaching materials, or creative works, our words have the power to guide, encourage, and inspire others in their journey of faith.

Conclusion

God’s choice to use writing as a means of guidance reveals His intention to communicate with us in a way that is accessible, permanent, and impactful. Through wisdom literature and prophetic vision, He provides a blueprint for living with purpose and clarity. As followers of Christ, we are called not only to read and apply these written truths but also to embrace writing as a tool to share His guidance with others.

Just as Habakkuk was instructed to write the vision and make it plain, may we steward our words in ways that glorify God, inspire others, and provide lasting guidance for generations to come in Jesus name.

Thank you for reading till the end. If you have been blessed, please share, I will be glad you did.
