WELCOME TO THE ANOINTED PEN SERIES!
This is episode 4 of “The Anointed Pen: Writing as a Sacred Call for Christian Influence” series.
Today’s episode is the last episode for the month of January. In this month of January, we have been treating
The Origins of Writing in Biblical Times and How God used writing (e.g., the Ten Commandments, prophetic scrolls) to communicate His will, and why kingdom writers should explore writing as a divinely approved tool for kingdom influence.
In today’s topic, I will be sharing on:
Writing as a Sacred Trust: The Power of the Written Word in Faith.
Writing has always been a divine tool for preserving truth, guiding believers, and shaping destinies. From the words of Jesus to the letters of Paul, scripture highlights the sacred responsibility of writing. As Christian writers, we are called to steward this gift with reverence, ensuring that our words align with God’s purpose.
Jesus and the Authority of Scripture
Jesus Himself demonstrated the power of the written word. Throughout His ministry, He consistently referenced scripture, using the phrase “It is written” to affirm His teachings.
- In Matthew 4:4, 4:7, and 4:10, Jesus responded to Satan’s temptations by quoting scripture, showing that written words hold divine authority.
- His reliance on scripture wasn’t just a defense mechanism—it was a testament to the eternal truth contained in God’s Word.
By embracing scripture, Jesus reinforced the importance of preserving and sharing divine revelation through writing. Today, Christian writers have the same responsibility: to ensure that their words carry wisdom, truth, and faithfulness to God’s message.
Paul’s Letters: Writing for Transformation
The Apostle Paul exemplifies how writing can be used for instruction, encouragement, and correction. His letters to the early churches—which is an integral of the New Testament—continues to shape Christian thoughts and practices today.
- In 2 Timothy 3:16, Paul reminds us that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.”
- His letters to churches in Corinth, Ephesus, Philippi, and beyond were more than mere correspondence—they were divinely inspired teachings that still guide believers today.
Paul’s writings remind us that our words can transcend time, offering wisdom and encouragement to generations. As writers, we are entrusted with a similar mission: to use our words to build, restore, and edify others in faith.
Embracing the Call to Write with Purpose
Writing is not just a skill—it is a sacred trust. When we write with the intention of sharing God’s truth, we step into a divine calling. Whether through books, blogs, devotionals, or sermons, Christian writers are given the responsibility to preserve and share the faith.
As you write, remember:
- Your words can bring light to those in darkness.
- Your message can inspire and uplift others.
- Your writing can be a vessel for God’s truth and love.
Just as Jesus and Paul used the written word to transform lives, may we also honor this sacred trust by writing with faith, integrity, and purpose.
Thank you for reading till the end. If you have been blessed, please share, I will be glad you did.
