Thank you for following The Anointed Pen: Writing as a Sacred Call for Kingdom Influence series.
I truly appreciate you for joining me on this journey to uncover the significance of being a Kingdom writer in the last eleven months!
I want to welcome you to the Month of December, a month that feels like a New Year. I wish you a Happy and fulfilling December in Jesus name!
You are blessed and lifted; you are empowered and restored. In this month, you will enjoy diverse blessings in Jesus name!
Our focus for this month of December is: The Scribe’s Reward: Finishing Well, and our topic for this week is: The Year of Obedience: Reviewing Your Journey as a Scribe
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23–24
As we enter the final month of the year, every scribe must pause, breathe, and reflect. Writing is not just an art; it is a journey of obedience.
It is a path where God shapes our motives, purifies our intentions, and stretches our capacity to steward His words with honor.
December is not merely the end of a calendar; it is an altar of remembrance.
This year, you have written under the leading of the Spirit, sometimes boldly, sometimes trembling, sometimes in faith, and other times out of sheer obedience when inspiration felt far away. These moments matter. Heaven records not just your words but the posture of your heart behind them.
Reflection is an act of worship.
When you look back, you begin to see the quiet victories you almost overlooked, the days you wrote even when tired, the drafts you completed, the ideas God whispered at dawn, the courage you found to share your voice, the healing that came as you wrote in the secret place. Those moment of obedience are not small to God.
There were also unseen sacrifices, the battles you fought privately, the emotional journeys you transcribed into words, the spiritual strength you poured into your writings. Only God knows the weight behind each sentence you birthed.
And yes, there were things that didn’t work. The articles that didn’t gain traction. The ideas that never fully developed. The posts that felt invisible. The moments you doubted your gifting. But these too are part of the refining process. Growth rarely shines on the surface; it happens in the hidden place where the Holy Spirit adjusts, corrects, matures, and strengthens you.
This is why the psalmist’s prayer is so fitting:
“Search me, O God… lead me.”
As a scribe, you must let the Spirit evaluate your year, not to condemn you, but to refine you. Ask Him:
What did You purify in me?
What attitudes did You strip away?
What strengths did You build into me silently?
Which patterns should I not carry into the next season?
Where did I obey You wholeheartedly, and where did I hold back?
Reviewing your journey through the lens of obedience, not metrics, not visibility, not applause; is where true maturity begins.
God measures faithfulness, not followers, obedience, not outcomes.
So, as you close this year, embrace God’s gentle assessment of your journey. Celebrate the obedience, honor the growth, and yield your heart again for His leading into 2026 and beyond.
Reflection: What is one area of obedience God strengthened in you this year as a scribe?
Prayer: Father, search my heart as this year closes. Reveal what You refined in me, what You healed, and what You strengthened.
Help me see my journey through Your eyes.
Teach me to value obedience over outcomes.
Lead me into the new season You have prepared for me as Your scribe. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you for reading till the end.
I will see you next week by God’s grace!
If you have been blessed, please share, I will be glad you did.
