Thank you for following The Anointed Pen: Writing as a Sacred Call for Kingdom Influence series.
I truly appreciate you for joining me on this journey to uncover the significance of being a Kingdom writer.
Our focus for this month of June is: The Prophetic Writer.
And as we wrap up this month’s topic today, we will examine-
The Prophetic Writer: When the Pen Makes You a Target
The battle to keep your voice as a writer is real, but for the prophetic writer, it is fierce.
The moment your pen begins to expose deception, dismantle false systems, and shine light into the dark corners of hearts and institutions, you become a target.
Darkness doesn’t yield easily. It resists exposure. And those who once applauded your writing may begin to recoil, accuse, or reject you; not because you changed, but because your light is now uncovering what they preferred hidden.
Prophetic writing is not trendy. It is disruptive.
It carries weight. It rattles structures. It rebukes deception and pierces pretense with truth.
The pen and voice that once inspired can suddenly be seen as “too much,” “too sharp,” or “too confrontational”, even when you’re simply obeying the Spirit.
This is why every prophetic writer must understand:
You are not merely writing devotionals or sharing encouragement.
You are doing warfare with your pen.
And that warfare will eventually find you through rejection, spiritual attack, offense, or deep loneliness.
You must learn to guard your heart with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23), because nothing pollutes the oil on your writing faster than offense, bitterness, or unresolved trauma.
The enemy is subtle. He looks for tiny cracks in your soul, the little foxes that spoil the vine (Song of Songs 2:15) in order to corrupt the flow of your anointing.
How to Guard Your Heart as a Prophetic Writer
-
Stay Rooted in God’s Presence
-
Your intimacy with God is the safeguard of your voice.
-
Never let productivity replace fellowship.
-
-
Purge Offense Regularly
-
When misunderstood or rejected, don’t let it sink into your spirit.
-
Speak the truth, but forgive quickly. Offense creates filters that twist how you hear and what you release.
-
-
Allow Healing to Be Ongoing
-
Your pen will carry your pain if it’s unhealed.
-
Take time to allow the Holy Spirit to heal the bruises that come from spiritual warfare or personal wounding.
-
-
Refuse to Write from Spite or Bitterness
-
Check your motives before you release a hard word.
-
Ask: Is this written in love? Or is it revenge dressed as revelation?
-
-
Submit Your Voice to Wise Counsel
-
Prophetic writers need community, not isolation.
-
Let trusted voices help you discern tone, timing, and posture.
-
-
Fast and Pray Over Your Pen
-
Don’t just fast for open doors, fast for a clean heart and clear channel.
-
Your pen must be sanctified, not just gifted.
-
-
Rest in Obscurity When Needed
-
Sometimes, God hides you for your preservation.
-
Don’t force your voice into spaces God hasn’t called you to yet.
-
Thank you for reading till the end.
I will see you next week by God’s grace with a new theme for the month of JULY!
If you have been blessed, please share, I will be glad you did.
