WRITING WITH PURPOSE: BECOMING A MODERN DAY SCRIBE FOR GOD

Thank you for following The Anointed Pen: Writing as a Sacred Call for Kingdom Influence series.

I truly appreciate you joining me on this journey to uncover the significance of being a Kingdom writer.

As we close out February and the series on “The Scribe’s Mandate: Writing with Purpose,” I want to challenge us to embrace a new dimension—Becoming a Modern-Day Scribe for God

The call of the scribe is not just a historical or biblical concept; it is a living, breathing mandate for today. The world is flooded with voices, narratives, and opinions, but God is still looking for those who will write His words with purity, accuracy, and power.

Who is a Modern-Day Scribe?

A modern-day scribe is not just an author, blogger, or content creator, they are a vessel through whom God releases His heart and mind into the earth through writing. They are scribes of the kingdom.

Jesus said in Matthew 13:52 “Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”,

As a Kingdom writer, you are entrusted with divine mysteries, revelations, and truth that must be accurately documented and communicated.

Moses recorded God’s commandments, shaping Israel’s covenant.
David wrote Psalms that continue to transform worshippers today.
Paul wrote letters that still guide the Church’s doctrine.
John wrote Revelation, revealing God’s end-time agenda.

Their writings transcended their time because they were divinely inspired and spiritually impactful. Likewise, modern-day scribes must carry the same weight of responsibility in their assignment.

The Responsibility of a Modern-Day Scribe

  1. Writing as an Act of Obedience
God told Habakkuk: “Write the vision and make it plain” (Habakkuk 2:2). Modern-day scribes must write not based on trends but on divine instructions. When God gives you a message, it is not for you to keep it is for the generations that will run with it.

  2. Stewarding the Sacred
In a world of misinformation and deception, scribes are called to preserve truth. Every word we write should be filtered through the Holy Spirit to ensure that what we release aligns with God’s will.

  3. Writing with Boldness and Clarity
Jesus did not entrust Himself to the crowds because He knew what was in their hearts (John 2:24-25). A scribe must write with discernment and boldness, knowing that the message is not for popularity but for purpose. Stand firm in truth, even when it is uncomfortable.

  4. Bridging the Ancient and the Modern
The digital age has given scribes new tools blogs, social media, books, newsletters, podcasts but the mission remains the same: to record, preserve, and communicate God’s word. Whether through a handwritten journal or a digital platform, we are called to use every medium to spread God’s truth.

The Charge: Arise and Write!

This is not just a call to write, it is a call to warfare, preservation, and influence. Your words can be:
A sword to cut through deception
A balm to heal the broken
A trumpet to sound the alarm
A scroll to document the move of God

As we step into March, let us rise as modern-day scribes. Bold, anointed, and unwavering in our mandate to write for His glory.

Are you ready to pick up your pen for the Kingdom?

Thank you for reading till the end.

I will see you next week by God’s grace in a fresh episode for the theme of the month of March!

If you have been blessed, please share, I will be glad you did.
